MAN-IMAL Symposium - 21 November 2017
The “One World, One Health” concept and the climate change
On November 21, 2017, the MAN-IMAL programme will welcome for the 5th time representatives from WHO, ECDC, OIE and FAO for a day of cross-disciplinary conferences around the "One World, One Health" concept and the climate change.
This topic, a priority for many institutions, international organisations and citizens, is a central part of the "One World, One Health" concept. Its causes and its consequences involve at the same time human health, alimentation, agriculture and the environment in the broad sense.
Drought, famine, changes in the production systems, zoonoses and crops, animals or population migrations,... experts will speak on these topical issues and will end the day with a question-answer session, allowing the public to ask questions and share their impressions.
The day, organised around the triad Animal-Man-Food is intended, not only for all students and staff from our 4 partner institutions but also for a wider audience of professionals, allowing the public to do some networking and to exchange ideas. The symposium is organised as part of the 2nd-year Master’s "From Animal to Man: Analysing and Managing Health and Food Risks" course programme. For the first time, it is organised in collaboration with the international Master’s programme "Infectious diseases One Health" hosted partly by the University of Tours.
The lectures will be delivered in English. Participation is free but you must register before November 19 2017 via this online form.
The symposium will be held at Oniris, on the « La Chantrerie » campus from 10h to 16h15.
