Beginning of the 2016 autumn term
MAN-IMAL Master 2
Once again this year, students in the Master 2 "From Animal to Human: analysis, control and management of health and nutritional risks" have enjoyed two welcome weeks full of experiences. They even had the opportunity to spend a few days on the ESA campus in Angers. Beyond the completion of administrative procedures, these two weeks of preparation allow above all to start bringing the group together for the busy year to come: there is a lot of group work ahead and multiculturalism does not just happen!
This class, less international but just as multidisciplinary as last year, has been able to:
- discover the different institutions where their training will take place,
- discuss the work ahead with teachers,
- start English and French as a Foreign Language lessons,
- learn to work in a multicultural environment,
- check their knowledge of the software they are going to use during the year,
- attend a workshop on the methodology of internship search in France.
This year, they also enjoyed a tour in English of the city centre of Nantes, performed by three students preparing a tourism degree at IMS Nantes.
On their agenda, the ever-popular classics of Nantes: the Castle of the Dukes of Brittany, St. Pierre Cathedral, the Bouffay neighbourhood and its square (for nightlife), the "Cour des 50 otages" and the Brittany Tower (to make them want to climb to its top), the "rue du Calvaire" (for stores), the Graslin Theatre and the famous "Passage Pommeraye", the “Place du Commerce” and the TAN (Nantes’ public transportation operator) shop and finally, a look at the LU Tower.
On this chilly morning of late October, the end of the visit was also an opportunity for part of the MAN-IMAL team to get to know the students around a hot chocolate.
After two weeks of warming up to an already sustained rhythm, it was time to get down to serious business!
